The Head of the State Border Guard Service met with representatives of the US Embassy in Ukraine

Serhii Deineko informed his colleagues about the activities, achievements and prospects of development of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The meeting took place on June 18th at the State Border Guard Service Administration. It was attended by Daniel Miller, the Head of the Defense Cooperation Division, and Brandon HILL, the Head of the Bilateral Relations Section of the Defense Cooperation Division, from the US Embassy in Ukraine.

Serhii Deineko informed his colleagues about the activities, achievements and prospects of development of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The Head of the Agency said, ‘The service is being reformed today. We are deploying a fundamentally new system of intellectual border, creating a modern aviation structure for special purposes and updating the aviation fleet. We actively use patrol aircraft and drones for the convenience of border protection and monitoring of the territorial sea of ​​Ukraine. We are reforming the Marine Guard and developing a system for surface picture lighting’.

Serhii Deineko noted that in accordance with the program of cooperation with NATO, the border agency is systematically moving to the standards of the Alliance. "In this context, we sincerely compliment the decision granting Ukraine the status of an enhanced partner," he said.

The main issues of further cooperation were also outlined at the meeting.

 The Head of the State Border Guard Service thanked the American partners for their constant support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, solidarity in counteracting Russian aggression and assistance in establishing peace in Donbas. The American colleagues, in turn, also thanked the State Border Guard Service for the high level of cooperation and informed about the readiness to expand bilateral cooperation.
